Connect Google Search Console to Gemini (Gemini CLI)

· Organiq · third-party facts carry source and date in the text

To connect Google Search Console to Gemini CLI, add the Organiq remote MCP server with gemini mcp add --transport http organiq https://organiqgeo.com/mcp or with an mcpServers block using httpUrl in ~/.gemini/settings.json, then authorize with /mcp auth organiq (Google sign-in). First create the account and connect a property at app.organiqgeo.com.

Before you start

Before you start: have an Organiq account with at least one Search Console property connected. Sign in with Google at app.organiqgeo.com, click "Connect Search Console" (read-only access) and wait for the first sync.

This guide covers Gemini CLI (terminal). For the Gemini app (web and mobile) check Google's current documentation on connectors; Organiq works in any client that accepts remote MCP servers with OAuth.

How do I add it with gemini mcp add?

gemini mcp add --transport http organiq https://organiqgeo.com/mcp

Then, in an interactive session, run /mcp auth organiq: the browser opens Google sign-in and the Organiq authorization screen. /mcp lists the server and its 39 tools. Tokens are stored in ~/.gemini/mcp-oauth-tokens.json and renewed automatically.

How do I configure it in settings.json (OAuth or API key)?

In ~/.gemini/settings.json (global) or .gemini/settings.json (project):

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "organiq": { "httpUrl": "https://organiqgeo.com/mcp" }
  }
}

Without OAuth (CI, servers), use a personal API key created in your Organiq account:

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "organiq": {
      "httpUrl": "https://organiqgeo.com/mcp",
      "headers": { "Authorization": "Bearer gy_live_YOUR_KEY" }
    }
  }
}

The key reads your properties' data; treat it as a secret and revoke it if it leaks. Gemini CLI versions released before automatic OAuth support only work with the key option; check gemini --version.

Quick test

gemini -p "Use check_connection from the organiq server and tell me which properties are available."

Questions that work: "How did my site do in the last 28 days?", "Which queries lost clicks?", "How many sessions came from ChatGPT and Perplexity?".

Frequently asked questions

Does Gemini CLI need a client ID for OAuth?

No. The server accepts dynamic client registration (DCR) and Client ID Metadata Documents; Gemini CLI discovers the endpoints from the 401 with resource_metadata and registers itself.

Can I use the same server in Claude and Gemini?

Yes. Each client runs its own authorization with the same Google account; tokens are independent and can be revoked separately.

Is the URL the same as for Claude and ChatGPT?

Yes: https://organiqgeo.com/mcp for every client (Streamable HTTP, POST).

Does it work in the Gemini mobile app?

This guide is for Gemini CLI. Support for custom MCP servers in the Gemini app depends on Google; check the current documentation before trying.
