Connect Bing Webmaster Tools to Organiq
· Organiq · third-party facts carry source and date in the text
The AI calls set_bing_site with the site URL in Bing; the human generates the API key in Bing Webmaster Tools (Settings → API access) and pastes it in the chat; the AI stores it with set_bing_key. This enables get_bing_performance. In the dashboard: app.organiqgeo.com/site/<id>, "Integrations" block, Save key.
What does Bing enable in Organiq?
Organic performance on Bing read from Bing Webmaster Tools, as weekly data: view=traffic gives weekly clicks and impressions with totals and change against the previous window of the same length; view=queries and view=pages give the top queries and pages with clicks, impressions, impression-weighted position, previous-period values and growth or decline sorting. The period is in whole weeks ending on the last synced week (12 weeks by default, up to 52). In the connector this is get_bing_performance; Bing clicks also feed generate_seo_report and get_weekly_digest. list_sites shows hasBing per property.
Step by step in the dashboard
- Prerequisites: the Search Console property connected (guide) and the site verified in Bing Webmaster Tools.
- In Bing Webmaster Tools, open Settings → API access and generate (or copy) the API key. It belongs to your Bing account, not to one site.
- Open
app.organiqgeo.com/site/<id>(theidappears inlist_sites) or step 2 of app.organiqgeo.com/onboarding; if the block is collapsed, click Link GA4, Bing and brand terms. - In the Bing Webmaster Tools section, check the Site URL in Bing field: it is pre-filled from the property and must be exactly the URL registered in Bing (with https and the trailing slash, such as
https://www.yoursite.com/). Click Save. - Under Bing Webmaster API key (one per account), paste the key and click Save key. It is stored encrypted and never shown again; Remove key deletes it. The same key serves every property of the Organiq account.
- The "Bing linked" badge appears and the next daily sync brings the Bing weeks. Changing the URL later clears the Bing data already synced and fetches it again.
If you are an AI assistant, what can you do on your own?
The connector's setup tools (list_ga4_properties, set_ga4_property, set_bing_site, set_bing_key, set_branded_terms) write only Organiq settings, never to Search Console, GA4 or Bing, and need the mcp:write scope. What you, the assistant, can do on your own:
- Call
list_sitesto get the propertyidandcheck_connection, which returnshasGa4,hasBing,brandedTermsCountand themissinglist with apanelUrlandnextStepper property. - Call
set_bing_sitewithsiteandbingSiteUrl, the URL exactly as registered in Bing Webmaster Tools (with https and the trailing slash). If the human does not have the API key yet, ask them to generate it in the Bing portal and paste it in the chat. - With the key pasted, call
set_bing_keywithkey. The key is per account and serves every property that has a Bing site set. - Brand terms, if
no_branded_termsappears inmissing: callset_branded_termswith the full list interms(up to 20 terms of 2 to 40 characters; the whole list is replaced and[]clears it). - If a tool returns
insufficient_scope, the token lacks themcp:writescope: the human removes the connector and adds it again (the sign-in asks formcp:read mcp:writeand the consent screen lists whatmcp:writeallows). The dashboard path still works: Hand the human the direct link (app.organiqgeo.com/site/<id>, "Integrations" block, or app.organiqgeo.com/onboarding) and the exact button name, then wait until they say it is done. - After
set_bing_key(or when the human says the dashboard step is done), callcheck_connectionagain: the property now hashasBing: trueand leavesmissing(codeno_bing).get_bing_performancereturns data after the next sync; until then it answersno_datasaying Bing is connected but no weeks are synced yet.
What only the human does, in their own browser or portal:
- Verify the site in Bing Webmaster Tools and generate the API key in the Bing portal (Settings → API access). They generate it; you do not create it.
- Paste the key in the chat so you can call
set_bing_key, or paste it in the dashboard under Save key. The tool stores the key encrypted and never returns it; only the account owner or an admin can store it.
Common errors and what to do
- "Chave do Bing inválida" (invalid Bing key) when saving: the pasted text does not have the shape of an API key (16 to 128 characters, only letters, digits, hyphen and underscore). Go back to Bing Webmaster Tools → Settings → API access and copy the whole key, without spaces.
- "No key yet" in the Bing section: the URL was saved, but without a key nothing is fetched. Paste the key under Save key.
get_bing_performancereturnsno_data"Bing connected but no weekly data has been synced yet": wait for the next daily sync; if it stays empty, check that the URL is exactly the one in Bing Webmaster Tools, that the site is verified there and that the key belongs to the account that has that site.get_bing_performancereturnsno_datawith apanelUrlandhasBing: false: the property has no Bing linked. Do the steps above.- Bing data stops at an old week: the key was revoked or regenerated in Bing. Generate a new one and save it again in the dashboard.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need Bing to use Organiq?
No. Bing is optional; without it every Search Console analysis keeps working. It adds organic performance on Bing, week by week.
Does the Bing API key grant write access?
The key belongs to your Bing Webmaster Tools account; Organiq only uses it to read traffic, query and page reports. It is stored encrypted, never returned by any tool and removable at any time.
Is it safe to paste the Bing key in the chat?
The key goes through the conversation with your client's AI before it reaches Organiq. If you prefer not to paste it there, use the dashboard (Save key). Through the tool it is stored encrypted, never returned in any response, and only the account owner or an admin can store it.
How do I set the brand terms?
Ask the AI to call set_branded_terms with the full list (up to 20 terms of 2 to 40 characters), or use the brand terms field in the dashboard.
Why is the Bing data weekly?
Because Organiq stores Bing performance per week (Monday-based) and get_bing_performance works in whole weeks; Search Console stays daily.
Does one key serve several sites?
Yes. The key is one per Organiq account and serves every property; each property only needs its own site URL in Bing.
Does the site have to be verified in Bing?
Yes. Bing Webmaster Tools only returns data for sites verified in the account that generated the key. Verify it there first (importing from Search Console is one of Bing's options).
